So I took a chance, and I got choked out. I learned something from the experience though:
Don’t be cocky.
Yeah. I got too cocky this one time while doing jiu jitsu, and bam, I was put to sleep. Not the greatest feeling, but almost a necessary experience for my ego.
It’s good to compete. It’s good to strive for the win. But reality is a chilling reminder of where you actually stand. Take the lesson life gives, then move past the failure. Success is usually a few steps beyond that temporary defeat.
Podcast Music Picks:
Valentine (Paul Dateh Remix) – Kina Grannis
This is a beautiful remix of Kina Grannis’ awesome voice. It’s got that chill R&B babymakin vibe. The strong kick delivers.
Power Trip (feat. Miguel) – J. Cole
This is no doubt a track to dance to. That syncopated kick is a bit confusing at first, but it gives that drive. Would you believe me if I said I’m in love? Damn.
Sunday Morning – Maroon 5
Oldie but goodie. This tune goes well with the weather around this time. Spring and summer song for sure.
Eleanor Rigby – The Beatles
Even more an oldie, and even a bigger goodie. The recording methods of this track is something to appreciate as well, taking into account the technology they had access to back in the day. No hundreds of tracks on Pro Tools, just old school ingenuity.
Eleanor McRigby (Andy McKee vs. The Beatles) – Axel Mansoor
Modernizing a classic song, with some incredible guitar skills. Props to Axel Mansoor. music.axelsmusic.com
