KUYA

Kuya means “older brother” in Filipino

“I’m just trying to be the best version of myself.”

Born in the Philippines. Grew up in California. Musician, poet, photographer, audio engineer. Fusing the Philippines and America—two homes—and trying to give back to the world.

One of the most important things in the world are role models. They provide a sense of possibility—if they can do it, so can you. While I may not be the best in the world in music or performance, I am the best version of myself. My goal is to put forward this idea and empower others who look like me to believe in their own dreams and desires.

Filipino American students need teachers who will understand their experience, who will make needed resources from non-traditional sources available.
