“I’m just trying to be the best version of myself.”
My name is Christian Guerrero and I’m a Filipino American immigrant with big dreams for my family and community. I was born in the Philippines and grew up in California. Moved back and forth between LA, the Bay, and the Philippines. Trying my best to be a bridge between my two homes—the Philippines and the United States—while giving back to my communities through creativity and action.
One of the most important things in the world are role models. They provide a sense of possibility—if they can do it, so can you. While I may not be the best role model out there, I am trying to be the best version of myself. I’m trying to be the dude that my younger self needed to see.
Filipino American students need teachers who will understand their experience, who will make needed resources from non-traditional sources available.
